Signature dishes like the salt and pepper chips and Hong Kong-style milk tea hover at the top of the favorites list, with many stating they’re a must-try. The authentic flavors of the clay pot dishes create a nostalgia for many, reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Customers often rave about the roast duck and the crispy fried chicken, which consistently receive high praise for their flavor and tenderness. The great lunchtime specials, where customers can personalize their sauce and protein for great value, add to the restaurant's appeal.
While Crazy Wok brings joy to many, it’s not without its critiques. A few diners occasionally mention that the seating can fill up quickly during peak hours, leading to longer wait times in the bustling dining area. Some have also noted that certain dishes could be hit or miss—particularly in terms of spice levels which can vary day to day. A select few have expressed a desire for more vegetarian options on the menu, although there are still plenty of vegetable dishes available. The casual atmosphere might not suit those looking for a more formal dining experience.
Casual Chinese restaurant that is popular with the Chinese community. They roast their own meats (Duck and BBQ Pork Char Siu), fried chicken is a must, lots of rice and noodles dishes too. See our full video review on our experience under The Olive Tree Family on all social media platforms.
Cheap eats Café, which is great for meeting people. There is food on the menu for everyone. I tried to lunch special in which you chose your sauce and protein and the dish came with rice and a drink and was terrific value. Big serve! The taste was absolutely amazing! I’ll be here again soon. Highly recommended!
It feels like home. You help yourself to get the soup of the day, feels as if you’re back at home savouring meals by mum. There’s tissue on the table. The clay pot dishes are very big portion. Each table gets a takeaway box at the end of the meal to bring the remaining home enough to last another meal. The dishes are cooked in the classic Guongzhou style with proper ingredients to match the meat. Sure not to miss is the traditional Hong Kong style milk tea. There’s the cold one that’s chilled in the fridge, not by adding ice in hot drinks which would dilute the taste. A moving scene I came across: a chef was having mealtime next to a student. The student had just got his bowl refilled with rice. Seeing the student had barely enough meat to go with the rice, the chef asked the student to try his meat, sharing his food with the young man. How lovely!
It is very authentic Hong Kong restaurant. A lot of food choices and plenty of seating area. They also serve free soup which it is normally you have in HK. The staff and waitresses are very friendly and smile all the time. It is a great place to go for authentic HK restaurant.
We love it here. Food: so authentic, great menu choices. This time we had wonton in soup and spicy and sour chicken soup. Drink: we had green tea and Hong Kong tea. Location: great (5 mins from our flat 2 mins from Kelvinhall Subway and Partick Train Station. Staff fab
I’m loving this restaurant, ordered many times from Uber eats, personally it’s definitely the fittest choice since I’m an awkward cooker and being lazy after class over, among all Chinese or HK style food I’ve ever had in Glasgow it’s on the top of my list, food quality has been always excellent and pricing is reasonable. The fried chicken is probably the most underrated item because it is truly can be described as crispy outside with tender and juicy inside, unlike the texture of very very deep fried KFC. It would’ve been better if more spices added on the surface. Roasted duck served with plum sauce is also highly recommend it’s similar to what I used to had in HK.
You know its good when it's full of Chinese people enjoying their food .By far one of the best Chinese meals I've had in a long time ...
Crazy Wok offers a fantastic range of dishes, but don't miss their Roast Duck with Soy Sauce and the Spicy and Sour Chicken Soup. The Hong Kong-style milk tea is a standout drink.
